On our last day in Colorado, we decided to hike in the beautiful countryside. First we enjoyed lunch on Lake Dillon. We ate by the Marina at a small place and enjoyed the weather and scenery.
After lunch, we wound our way along the mountainside looking for the trail we had found on the internet. We had trouble finding that trail, but found some other trails. We parked the car and stepped into the forest.

~ C on top of a rock ~
We met some hikers along the way that told us of some beautiful waterfalls. They told us it was an hours hike from where we were. We had already hiked for an hour, but decided we could make it.
We crossed over these man made bridges that proved a little difficult at times. Christopher had no problem jumping over the rocks and small steams.
We continued onward and upward. and finally found the waterfall!
The waterfall was beautiful and definitely worth the trip up the mountain. We filled our water bottles up with the fresh spring water and sat for a few minutes enjoying mist from the water.

~ C nimbly climbing the rocks on the way back . Steve and I were just glad to cross it without injury. ~
When we got back home, we did a little research. It turns out that trail we took was considered advanced and was about 4.5 miles round trip. We ascended 1000 feet upwards. It was fun adventure and a perfect way to end our week!
