For Ian’s second birthday, I decided on a Monster theme. It was so fun to be creative and plan for a little man! All of our family came on Saturday to help him celebrate his big day. I had been talking to him about it for a few days so he would have some idea of what was going on. He knew we were going to sing, blow out a candle and eat cake. He had been going around saying “happy birthday.” On Saturday while he was napping we decorated the table and mantle. When he woke up he was surprised to see all the balloons and the words.

As the guests arrived, he was ready to eat cake! We were able to hold him off until after dinner! For dinner we had Steve’s barbeque. After dinner we opened presents. This boy was definitely loved!

We sang “happy birthday” and I helped him blow out the candle. When it was finished he said “do it again. Fire.” So we lit the candle again and this time he blew it out on his own. We did it for a third time and he needed a little help getting the candle to blow out again. We had to cut him off from blowing the candle out so we could eat the cake!
