23 Months

Fun, fun, fun!  We have had so much fun this past month.  We have enjoyed trips to the park, swimming, splashing at the splash pads and of course your favorite gym class!  This summer we are not as tied down to home as were last summer.  You take an afternoon nap around 1:30 and sleep until 4 or 4:30.  This leaves all morning to run around and have fun!

You are talking up a storm and speaking in two and three word sentences.  Your vocabulary impresses me and you seem to be learning new words every day!  I love hearing the phrases you say and how you mimic your dad and me.  Some of my current favorites are “oh geez,” “ought oh spaghettios,” “take a shower,” and “c’mon let’s play.”  I also love hearing you say “please”, “thank you” and “your welcome!”  It’s nice to know you are developing manners.

You are playing more and more with toys and are developing quite the imagination.  You love your train track and cars.  You like to pick up various items and pretend you are cutting the grass!  It is so cute.   You also love your pegs and and are working on learning all of your colors.  You just started to watch a little television (Doc McStuffins).  When the TV is on you like to label what you see.

Ian you can be a bossy little boy.  You like to give directions to everyone.  You can tell people where to sit and you ask people to “wait” and or “stop” when you want to do things by yourself, like going down the stairs.  You also have a short temper and when things don’t go your way you are quick to get upset.  We are working on this along with sharing.   You don’t always want to share your space with our kids.  At gym class you hated when other kids would get on the item you were using.  This has gotten better over the past few weeks and now you don’t seem to mind.

You continue to be a happy and fun loving little boy!  We all love you so very much!
