It’s safe to say that you are a happy little toddler, Ian! You smile and laugh all day long. You are always on the go. You don’t stop. Your teachers tell me that all you want to do is play, even during nap time! At home, you get upset if we head upstairs and it isn’t nap time. You think we are going to put you in bed and you do not want that at all! You walk everywhere and try to climb anything!
You continue to babble non stop and it’s usually very loud! Still no words, but you do seem to mimicking us more and more. You say mama and dada, but it’s not in reference to us yet. You are able to wave, but really only do it on your terms! We can definitely say you are STUBORN!
This month you are becoming a little more picky in what you eat. If you don’t like it or don’t want to eat it, it gets thrown over the side of your high chair. The floors are a disaster after some meals. If we all have forks, you want one too. At times you can successfully stab the food and eat it. Fruit is still your favorite thing to eat, especially raspberries and blueberries. You also continue to love pasta in any form.
You are becoming more interested in your toys. You like playing with your cars and enjoy your shape sorter bucket. The stacking blocks you got for your birthday can also keep you entertained. Some of your favorite things to play with are a small cup with rocks you found outside. You put them in your cup and then dump them out. This can go on for hours!
You can’t tell us what you want, but you are proficient in getting your point across. If I am sitting on the ground and you want to go somewhere you crawl in my lap, put your arms around my neck and try to pull me up. It is very entertaining. Once I’m up you will point in the direction you want to go. You will also turn my shoulders to the right directions. You like to go outside, to the pantry for a snack, to the garage and sometimes upstairs to check out the music room.
Bedtime is still at 8:30 and your usually sleep until 6:45. At school you take two naps, but on the weekend you take one long one. We read books, brush your teeth and then you curl up in bed with your blanket and stuffed turtle. You put your self to sleep and rarely are there tears.
Each month brings something new and I love watching you making these connections. We love you to the moon and back!
