Denver

Sunday, we got up early and drove an hour and a half into Denver.  We spent the day touring the city and enjoy the sites.  We started the day off by touring the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.   IMG_7242

After our museum fun, we headed to the 16th Street Mall to get some lunch and check out the city.  The mall is several city blocks long filled with shops and restaurants.  There were several street performers out entertaining the pedestrians.    IMG_7264

A few blocks from the mall was the capital.  We walked over and took some pictures.  Denver was hot, it was 96! So we did not escape the heat, although I was the only one bothered by it!  We had some time to kill before our dinner reservations, so we headed back to the mall and had some drinks at the Denver Hard Rock Café.  I was able to cool off before we headed back into the heat!

For dinner, we went to the Buckhorn Exchange, one of the oldest restaurants in Denver.  It was also featured on Man vs. Food. They are known for their steak and exotic cuts of meat, so of course Steve and Christopher wanted to check it out!

For dinner C ordered Elk, I had Elk and Buffalo and Steve was the most adventurous with his meal.  Unfortunately, the meal did not live up to our expectations, but we still enjoyed the outing.  After dinner we drove an hour into the mountains to Silverthorne.
