Oh my word, I can’t believe you are a year old.  It makes me a little sad at times because you are growing up way too fast!  We have a had a summer filled with fun.  This past month we have enjoyed going to the park, wagon rides, going to the splash parks, lots of playing outside and so much more!  You are always on the go and never stop.  You are not walking yet, but have taken steps.  You just chicken out going long distances.  You are cruising though and will hold on to the furniture and walls to get places. This big thing this month was learning to turn your walker toy.  You used to walk it right into the furniture or walls.  You have now figured out how to turn it.  We make many laps around the kitchen and living room.  One morning you even showed up in our bathroom while I was brushing my teeth!  You were so proud of yourself!

As long as you are in your own bed, you are fabulous sleeper.  You sleep from 8:30 until anywhere between 7:15-7:45.  You wake up talking and will gibber jabber until someone comes and gets you.  This month you also dropped your morning nap.  You will nap in the car if we are out and about, but if we are at home you fight that nap.

You have started waving and will copy our hand movements.  You are able to point and tell us what you want.  You love to crawl to the doors and point to the handles, so we will take you out.  On our walks or if we are outside, you point at the airplanes in the sky.  It’s very cute!

We have some serious conversations everyday, and one day I am sure I will understand it all.  You talk a lot and are not very quiet.  You say dada, but it still isn’t linked to Daddy yet.  The closest we have come to a word is saying “oh” when you drop an item or throw it.

You eat just about everything we do.  There are a few exceptions, but in generally you are a good eater.  Blueberries are one of your current favorites.  You also love lamb burgers and any type of potato.  We tried mixing regular formula with your special formula, but after two weeks, it was not working for your system.  You can have milk in things and ice cream, but we keep it to a minimum.

This month we also took swim lessons.  The lessons were twice a week.  You learned to kick and hold on to the wall.  We practiced floating on our backs, but you hated it.  Truth be told, you just wanted to get out and explore the rec center!  In fact the last few lessons, you spent a lot of time kicking from side of the pool to the stairs so you could leave.  It was a good experience and I am thankful that you love the water!

You are our little stinker and we love you so!
