Journey

September  the 24th was Willow’s first birthday.  Steve and I had decided a while back that we would go out to dinner and enjoy the day.  Last spring, we had bought concert tickets to see Journey along with my parents and Christopher.  At the time, the date of the concert didn’t connect with us.  It happened to be on the 24th.  So Friday night, Steve and I enjoyed a dinner out with just the two of us.  Saturday, we picked my parents up and headed to a little pizza joint in Deep Ellum.

After dinner we headed to the concert.  Unfortunately, so did the rest of Dallas.  We sat in traffic for over an hour and half.  We ended up missing one band and caught the final two songs of the other opening band. The place was so packed that it was not very enjoyable.  We finally found some space on the lawn, but could only see the people in their seats in front of us.  The jumbo televisions had been taken down, so if you sat on the lawn you couldn’t see anything.  It was greatly disappointing.  We ended up staying for just a few songs and left.  It still ended up being a nice day for Steve and I.
